Dreams Suck

Well, I know for sure that it's only going to get worse.

Dreams are supposed to be the one place where you can escape reality. You can fly, get in fights, and meet people you've never seen before. But no, not for me. Not last night, at least.

Even in my dream, I experience pain. I was sitting down, and then I leaned forward. Pain went through my back in two vertical lines. And it was one of those dreams that feels realistic.

So, then I wake up this morning and go through the normal routine. About 20 minutes into it, I feel pain. It can only be described as needles piercing various spots across my abdomen. I couldn't tell if it was my muscles or a really bad stomach ache. So, when I finally arrived on campus, I went straight to the pharmacy for Pepto and Tylenol.

Oh, and then we met with our client today for my Software Engineering class. Up to that point, I had only eaten two meals in the past two days. So, I was very uncomfortable and very hungry. (My teammates gave me a nickname. "T.O." Why? Because I was on painkillers. Funny.)

I went back to campus because I still had one class left. And to eat something solid. Around 3PM or so, I met up with my bro and we started our trip to Dallas. I remember passing out for an hour or so, but everything else is hazy.

So it's around 1AM, which means I've been up for 18 hours. Kinda tired. I'm gonna sleep.

Bill Simmons Knows

Talking about FIBA and international basketball...

"We should send the AND1 All-Stars to the 2008 Olympics in protest."
-Bill Simmons, ESPN Page 2

Abso-friggin'-lutely. I'd watch and I'd never stop laughing. Just imagine it.

Whew...

I feel just a bit better.

If he said that it wasn't a suicide attempt, I believe him.

On to better stuff...

Greggo laid down $100 on the table for Big Dumb Danny to motorboat Ty Walker. Danny did it. 20 seconds.

If you don't know what a motorboat is, I'll try to explain it as best as possible. And I'll use the example of male on female motorboating.

First, to get an idea, make the sound of a motorboat by pressing your lips together gently and exhaling with force. Now, imagine a man doing this between the breasts of a female. This is a motorboat.

So, out of nowhere, Greggo makes the bet. Hilarious. I love The Ticket.

Umm...What?!

Terry Glenn cuts his hand, and no one knows how.

Now this...

"Report: T.O. taken to Dallas ER to induce vomiting."

This really has me worried. Either he consumed something by mistake, or he messed with something he shouldn't have.

I'm going to be optimistic and hope that it's just an accident. I hope it's nothing that will involve the police. T.O. is known for taking care of his body and staying in shape.

But the last line of the article is what stresses me out.

" KTVT said a Dallas police spokesperson was en route to the hospital to talk about a 'high profile case.'"

A "high profile case." Crap.

Buy Stuff

I knew it was a while. I didn't know it was this long.

So, when I get all stressed out, or worried, or just bored, I tend to shop. I like shopping, but only the way I shop. I don't like walking into a store without knowing what I want.

I bought a laptop. From Dell.

For you tech nerds out there, here are the basic specs:

1.7 GHz Intel Pentium M
512 DDR2 RAM
40 GB hard drive (5400 rpm)
XP Home (will be upgraded to Pro tomorrow)
15.4" WXGA widescreen

Yea, I'm happy.

Oh, because I bought it last Friday and it just got here. That's why I'm happy.

Summer Showers

This is one of the things I love about being on campus.

"Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing and lots of sunscreen before you enjoy time outside." - News8Austin Weather.

At 10:30AM or so, the rain started. It came out of nowhere. One minute, it was sunny and bright. The next, it's like there's a flood coming.

So, because this wasn't predicted, there were plenty of wet t-shirts to be seen. And the only ones I care about were the shirts on females.

So, so great.

Somewhat paraphrased, "If she doesn't like it, just get a spoonful of whipped cream and flick it onto her face. See if she likes that." - K-Per.

That is when I lost it.

Slowly

Another day of class and then a big weekend starts.

I'm very anxious about this week's big matchup. UT against OSU. I don't know what's going to happen, but I better be happy at the end of the game.

The Cowboys kick off their season against the Jags. I believe in the Cowboy's defense, but I want to see more from the running backs. The line is doing fine. Barber and Jones just need to react faster.

As you can tell, I've given up on talking about the rest of my top 25 songs. Maybe some other day, but I'd rather it not be tonight.

Bought the new Audioslave CD. It's not bad. Some of the songs are amazing. I need to listen to the entire thing a few more times before I give my final opinion.

I just read some ridiculous article. I did find something interesting though. When does a passion become an obsession? And when does that obsession become an addiction?

I love basketball. If I was set for life financially, I would spend most of my day shooting around. However, I haven't played basketball in 3 months or so. Maybe longer. That's not an obsession.

I can honestly say that I have no addictions. I don't have any obsessions either. If I don't play basketball for another 3 months, I'll probably lose my passion for it.

Great. Now I feel empty.

A Slight Delay

I know it's been a week.

Pat came down to visit. Was lots o' fun. Showed up Friday night and just left this afternoon.

Now the parents are here. Not for more than 20 hours though. They want to be with my sis-in-law for the sonogram that reveal whether the next kid is a boy or girl. Did I mention that? I forget.

And now my 4-day weekend is over. Oh, I only have class on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It's not too bad. 10AM to 3PM isn't as hard as I imagined. Then again, and I know I've said this dozens of times, my first semester at UT had a Monday from Hell.

Engineering Physics I: 8 - 9
Intro to Electrical Engineering: 9 - 10
Literature and Composition: 11 - 12
Advanced Calculus II: 1 - 2
Intro to Computing Systems: 3 - 4
TA Session for Physics: 6 - 7
Lab for Intro to EE: 7:30 - 9:30

Either way, I'll continue the music thing next time.
