Cold Rain

This is going to be awkward.

I am an uncle. I don't call my nephew by his name. I call him "The Kid." It's easy and I can't forget it. You know, when I'm talking to one of my parents, I can just say something like, "You won't believe what The Kid did today!"

Later today, my niece is going to be born. I know that it will be today because that's what I was told. Reason enough. Well, this means that I will no longer be able to refer to my nephew as "The Kid." I have to come up with something new. I may just go with "The Boy." That's easy too.

Still hoping that the university closes on Tuesday. There's a 50% chance of sleet in the morning. I think that's more than enough for the administration to become cowards. All of the rallies and events that were planned to honor Martin Luther King Jr. have been postponed. I just need 24 more hours of freezing weather.

Just as a precaution, I'm going to try to adjust my sleep schedule right now. I won't be able to handle a full day without proper rest. As a result, I'm going to have to alter my blogging schedule. I will still try my best to keep writing here every other day. It's just not going to be past 3AM. Oh, and the nice thing about my schedule is that I only have to go to bed early on Monday and Wednesday nights.

Just counting down until graduation. Still wish I didn't have to go through the ceremony. Oh well. After 5 years, what's 2 hours more?
