Sick and Sinning

Have I mentioned that I'm sick?

I'm sick.

I always get sinusitis twice each year. Usually in the winter and summer. Well, it's summer if you haven't noticed. So, I've been blowing my nose every 5 minutes or so and sneezing every once in a while. I started taking medicine once I knew for sure I was going to be sick. That was Monday. Since I started way early, I shouldn't be sick too long. I better be 100% in 3 days or I'll be pissed.

Ideally, I want to start feeling better tomorrow morning. It's not impossible.

Mel Gibson sucks a fat one. I'm late with this, I know. Ever since he made that religious movie, I've hated him. Making a profit off of the Bible. Isn't that a sin or something? Eh, I'm not going to look it up. I haven't touched a bible in over 3 years. Why start now?

That doesn't mean I'm an atheist or something. I just don't believe that going to church is necessary. It's recycled material that only feels new if you fell asleep the first time. So, when I heard the same speech twice and recognized it, I stopped going. Seriously, you only need to tell me "Do not murder" once. And "Love thy neighbor" is the same story. I get it.

And while I have respect for those of my friends who are open about their love for God, I have the most respect for those who don't try to "convert" me. I really appreciate not having to discuss religion and such. I just think that if we all keep it to ourselves, everything would be better.

Besides, church started to feel more like a bureaucracy than anything else. People with power looking away if a popular member was doing something immoral. Being "holier than thou" and thumbing their nose at people who didn't preach as much as they did. Two-faced individuals who would give false testimony against you if it would increase their favor with the higher ups. I think that's a sin too.

Either way, I'm not going back there. I'm a good person. I do the right thing most of the time. That's the important part.

Although, I've always wanted to get a red devil costume and bust down the doors while speaking in tongues. That would scare them...

Yea, I'd go back to do that.
