Sexual Lyrics Prompt Teens to Have Sex

I'm calling BS on this study.

Music does not tell 22% more teens to go out and have sex. Consider the possibility that the same teens who had sex earlier just so happen to like suggestive songs. It's not the music influencing the teens, rather their own frame of mind influencing the type of music they listen to. Some kids are going to want sex earlier, and it wouldn't surprise me that they like songs such as "Promiscuous."

Teens who are looking to be angry will listen to angry music. It's not angry music that causes kids to do violent things.

You want to know why the world is full of idiots? It's because researchers are looking for excuses and everyone loves a good one. Why did that kid bring a gun to school? Oh, it must have been the Marilyn Manson they were listening to. It must have been that gory video game Doom III.

There are millions of people who listen to Marilyn Manson. Millions more who play Doom III. You want to know why they don't do the same? It's because they choose not to. It's simple.

So those handful of kids who go ballistic at school do it because they choose to. They ultimately have to decide.

So, stop blaming everything but yourselves. Stop looking for excuses.
